Inside the House

The living room, minutes before the movers arrived with the furniture. You've seen how it looks. When - oh when?!?!?! - we get our new sofa, we'll take some more, updated pics! All the boxes are gone, save a few that are going to be stored in the rather large but not really easily accessible storage cupboards. We'll everything around at least 5 times before it's done, but for now it works!

The second picture is the kitchen/breakfast room. It's a great space and a nice utility room and cellar (!) around the corner. Very handy for curing fish. Or store wine, whatever your preference! But who came up with the idea that black work tops are a good idea?

The bedroom. Pre-furniture. The view is absolutely stunning, even though you can't really tell from this picture. The lamp is less stunning, but it will soon be a thing of the past.

Christmas Party

Last night we had our first (Swedish) Christmas party. We moved house on Thursday so it was kind of nuts for us to do this 48 hours later, but we were feeling the 'spirit's you might say. Joining us were Richard, Cecilia and Holly...Paul and Colleen, and Peter, Sarah, Rebecca and Madeline as well as Katarina. The party began at 2:30pm and ended around 7pm. We had drinks, songs, playtime, a visit from Tomten, more drinks, presents and finally a laid out Christmas feast. I think fun was had by all...

Holiday Cheer

Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukkah from Kajsa, Vera and Axel. Happy New Year, too!! We're all about 2006!!! Posted by Picasa

Axel likes the new house

On move in day, Axel and I were hanging out in out beedroom. He really liked the carpets and thinks they taste like...well, carpet. He was especially happy to have mama and papa home together for the day to hang out with him. He likes his papa's hat as well. Posted by Picasa

New House

Here are some photos of the new house we're moving into this week. Our masoniette is the ground and first floors and there are two additional floors above us. It's located very close to where we are currently living and it has a fantastic rear garden that opens up directly onto Hampstead Heath.

You can see where the house is located on Google Maps

We are moving in on Wednesday so we will send the new details to you all once we get settled. You can also see the view of London from just outside the rear wall of the garden. It's pretty amazing to have this every day. Posted by Picasa

Stella's Naming

We all were in Mariefred, Sweden on Sunday for Josephine and Markus' daughter, Stella's naming ceremony. It was nice to spend the day with most of Sofia's family and the children had a great time too.

Stella was born in September so she and Axel will have the cousin thing going on. This photo was taken on my phone so isn't great but it's got a nice quality of light that I thought would be appropriate for the event. Posted by Picasa

Kajsa's Christmas Pagent

Friday was the Christmas Pagent at Kajsa's school - The Bossy Christmas Fairy. No, Kajsa was not the lead although she fits the bill sometimes. Kajsa's class were all chocolate Santa's to be hung on the Christmas Tree. There was singing and dancing and lot's of fun.

We're going to Sweden today and I will be back on Monday with everyone else staying the week. We're planning to close on our house this week so it looks like we'll move on the 19th. Will send you all the details when we get tucked in. Lot's of love.

Kajsa On Skates

Kajsa Went Skating Today

This year they installed a temporary skating rink on the tennis courts at Parlaiment Hill Fields on Hampstead Heath. I saw them installing it on the way to work the other day (I walk past here on my way) and thought it would be a great activity for the ladies in the house.

This morning (Sun. 4 Dec) we all took a walk on the Heath and it was really beautiful. About 6C or 45F and really clear and sunny. It seems like everyone is now in the holiday mood since the weather is colder and, I think, it being December. In any event, Sofia and Kajsa went skating together, that is to say that Sofia held Kajsa up as they went around the ice. As Sofia tells it, it was typical Kajsa, she was totally focused on all the interesting people out on the ice rather than keeping her balance. It's all so easy for her it's hard to pay attention some time.

Vera, Axel and I drank hot chocolate, watched and took pictures. Actually Vera drank the hot chocolate, Axel slept... So here they are. Posted by Picasa
