Midsomer 2008
Last Saturday was the annual Midsomer party in our garden. We had a huge turnout (about 35 people in all I think) and the weather never carried out its threats so we had a great day. It's fun to see the children who've been through it a few times lead the festivities and the curious engage of the newcomers as well. As always Sofia made a fantastic spread of lax, herring, ceviche and cake among other things while I manned my station at the barbieQ. Looking forward to next
year already.

Easter Gets Snow, Christmas Rain

We all hiked up to Älgö for the Easter weekend (S and children staying a bit longer) and we had real snow. We saw about 1/2 feet when we arrived on Friday and more about the same came down on Monday. Sofia and the walking children built a snow queen on top of the shorty snowman we'd build (and then Axel decapitated) on Friday but for some reason the children don't appear to happy. Maybe Sofia is trying to impart the Swedish outdoors ethic and they've been in the elements for several hours when this was taken?

Kajsa and Vera's School Play
Friday was the annual Christmas Play at The Royal School, and once again Kajsa and Vera did a great job. "Scarcrow's Christmas" told the story of a generous scarcrow who gave his coat out to others who were cold. Kajsa was a narrator and Vera a silverfish. Both received rave reviews!

Jeff and Kathy - The First Dance

This is the first of many photos we'll post from Jeff and Kathy's wedding this past weekend. It was a near perfect weekend and the wedding and party were fantastic. The best part (save the police and bloody guest) was that EVERYONE in the room was focused on their happiness for bride and groom. I'd also add that the people who surround Kathy and Jeff are some of the best people I've ever known.
